About the Founder
William “Bill” Lee, founder of Vector 45, LLC, brings over 30 years of leadership, hands-on expertise, and dedication to the construction industry. Born and raised in Alabama, Bill’s early exposure to building came from his family’s successful homebuilding business. Whether working alongside his parents or learning teamwork in the field, these formative years instilled in him a deep appreciation for hard work, craftsmanship, and integrity.
Bill’s commitment to service began when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve after graduating from Marion Military Institute. His time in the Marine Corps shaped his values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership—qualities that would define his career. During this period, Bill also gained hands-on construction experience as a Materials Testing Technician, performing crucial quality control tests on asphalt, concrete, and soils. It was here, on job sites surrounded by crews and superintendents, that Bill’s passion for building complex projects truly ignited.
Encouraged to pursue his potential, Bill earned a degree in Building Science from Auburn University, one of the nation’s top construction programs. Supporting himself through college with part-time construction jobs, work at a local hospital, and his continued Marine Corps service, Bill demonstrated the grit and perseverance that remain central to his character.
Upon graduation, Bill joined Turner Construction, one of the country’s most respected builders, and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream. It was on his very first project—a campus for the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising—that Bill met his wife, Janet. Just one day after their wedding in 1990, Bill was activated for Operation Desert Storm as a Marine, reflecting his unwavering sense of duty. Together for over 34 years, Bill and Janet’s partnership has been a constant source of support and strength as Bill’s career advanced.
Over the following decades, Bill built an impressive portfolio, leading projects of all sizes across diverse sectors, including high-rise developments, aviation, federal, and commercial work. His time with Turner, Webcor Builders, and The Austin Company included overseeing landmark projects like The Metropolis in Downtown Los Angeles—one of the largest mixed-use developments in the area’s history. Along the way, Bill cultivated a reputation for prioritizing safety, fostering teamwork, and earning the trust of clients, subcontractors, and teams alike.
In 2023, Bill founded Vector 45, LLC with a mission to “build something great, while building great relationships.” With decades of expertise and the support of family, Bill leads the company with a commitment to excellence. His vision focuses on serving federal, state, municipal, and private markets, while upholding Vector 45’s core values: Safety, Teamwork, Trust, and Respect.
